Arts education & community

Founder & Creative Director — Museica's Art Studio & Entertainment

Established in 2016, Museica grew from an independent art studio into a multidisciplinary arts, education and entertainment space serving schools, families, adults, artists, organizations and community partners.

Jessica is a Teaching Artist and Chicago Public Schools vendor, developing visual art, music and multidisciplinary creative programming for people of all ages.

Her work includes students, families, educators, adults, independent artists, schools and community groups.

Artist-development programming includes songwriting, independent-artist sustainability, healing through art, poetry, live music and collaborative learning.

Cultural touring & creative communications

Corazón Migrante Cultural Tour — 2023

As a performing artist on the Corazón Migrante Cultural Tour, Jessica also contributed to the project's creative communications, designing its visual identity/logo and developing and managing its website. The experience brought together her work as an artist, designer and marketer in support of an international cultural exchange spanning the U.S. and Mexico.

MUSAS programming is also beginning to expand regionally, with programming extending into other states TBA

Cultural leadership

Jessica serves on the Board of the Mexican Folk Art Collective, supporting the preservation, celebration and visibility of Mexican folk art and cultural traditions.

Art & social change

Jessica's work is informed by her experiences as the daughter of Mexican immigrants, a woman in independent music, a queer artist and survivor of gun violence. She uses creativity to celebrate culture, tell overlooked stories, challenge injustice and create opportunities for connection and collective expression.

Creative entrepreneurship

Jessica's work through SureDesign adds professional experience in marketing, branding, graphic design, printing and production, creative direction, event production and small-business operations. This experience supports her ability to take creative and cultural projects from concept and branding through production, marketing and public presentation.
